HDG / G.I. Bolts

HDG / G.I. Bolts

Definition of Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) is the process of coating iron, steel or ferrous materials with a layer of zinc. H.D.G for steel parts is standardized in ISO 1461, but for fasteners the dedicated standard ISO 10684 exists.

Application : Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) is one of the oldest and most commonly used methods of protecting steel fasteners from corrosion. HDG coating is relatively maintenance-free and provides excellent corrosion protection to steel structures for 50-70 years in most atmospheric environments (industrial, urban, marine & rural).
